Gems & jewellery business making Raj shine globally: CM Sharma
Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced on Friday that Jaipur, renowned for its gems and jewelry, significantly contributes to the State’s economy and employment.
Speaking at the JAS2024 inauguration by the Jewellery Association at JECC, Sitapura, CM Sharma highlighted the State’s efforts to promote this industry under the ‘One District One Product’ scheme. In 2023-24, gems and jewelry exports from Rajasthan totaled Rs 11,183 crore. Sharma also revealed plans for a Gems and Jewellery Park, creating over 100,000 jobs, and emphasized the importance of artisan training and technological investment. He praised Jaipur’s jewelry for its global acclaim and cultural significance and urged entrepreneurs to support artisans. Sharma also called for public input towards achieving a “Developed India-Developed Rajasthan.”
