Gehlot lays foundation, inaugurates road works worth Rs 3,378 cr
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Thursday that the state government is continuously working to create excellent infrastructure in the State. “In the last 4 years, 61,000 kms roads costing Rs 30,000 crore have been built. Also, 70, 000 kilometers of roads have been sanctioned and Rs 42,000 crore have been issued for the construction of roads. In this way, the state government has constructed about 1.30 lakh kms at a cost of over Rs 70, 000 crore,” Gehlot was addressing the foundation stone laying and inauguration ceremony of 53 roads, ROBs and bridges costing Rs 3,377.55 crore through video conference from the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday.
The Chief Minister said that social and economic development of the area can be ensured only by the construction of good roads. “It is the result of the policies of the state government that today the roads of the state are better than the neighboring states. The Public Works Department has done commendable work in the last 4 years. Work orders for const works have been issued by getting tenders done in a time bound manner.
