From Raj to ‘Power’: State’s IAS achieve new milestones in Union Govt!
Jaipur: Wednesday was an auspicious day for the State bureaucracy. Three IAS officers on deputation at the Centre have been elevated, while another IAS has been called to the Centre to take over the responsibility of Joint Secretary. Three IAS posted on various posts in the Centre– Tanmay Kumar, Mugdha Sinha, and Muktanand Agrawal - have been given a ‘new jump’. Meanwhile, IAS Purna Chandra Kishan from Jaipur will be heading to New Delhi to assume the responsibilities of Joint Secretary.
Tanmay Kumar (1993 Batch IAS), who had shown his talent and efficiency in the previous BJP government in Rajasthan, went on deputation to the post of Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power in January 2020. Based on his zeal, ability, and hard work, in a short period of just 3 years and 7 months, he took a high leap and became first, the Additional Secretary, and now Special Secretary. He worked as an Additional Secretary for the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. On Tuesday, the Union government issued an order promoting Tanmay to the rank of Special Secretary with the same responsibilities. It has been mentioned in the order that this post is equivalent to Secretary. This means that now Rajasthan has four secretaries (Sriniwas, Sanjay Malhotra, Rajat Kumar Mishra and Tanmay Kumar) at the Centre. Mugdha Sinha of 1999 Batch had gone on central deputation in October 2022 and was posted as Joint Secretary in Ministry of Culture. On Tuesday, she was given the responsibility of a new and more important post as she was named Director General of tourism. According to sources, now that Gajendra Singh Shekhawat of Rajasthan is the Tourism Minister at the Centre, it is a happy coincidence that IAS Mugdha Sinha of Rajasthan has become DG (Tourism) under him.
Mukta Nand Agrawal (2008 batch IAS) went on deputation to the Centre in September 2022. Since then he has been holding the post of Director in Agriculture Ministry. On Tuesday, he was promoted to the post of joint secretary in the same Agriculture Ministry. Just on 15th June, he was penalized for the post of Joint Secretary and Mukta Nand got its result immediately.
Purna Chandra Kishan (2005 batch IAS) is currently the Skill and Employment Secretary. DoP had given him NOC to go to the Centre on June 27 and without much wait, he got a call from Delhi on Tuesday and he has been given a posting in Ministry of Agriculture as Joint Secretary. Sources indicate that 3 addl IAS officers from Raj are set to move to Delhi. Gaurav Goyal has received orders to serve as Joint Secy to LS Speaker, while 2 others await appointments.
