Ahmedabad/Mumbai/Jaipur: Cyclone Biparjoy, which ripped through Kutch and parts of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, left a trail of destruction as gusty winds and rains wreaked havoc, officials said. The cyclone has now weakened into a ‘severe’ storm and turned into a depression on Friday evening. It is now on its way to Rajasthan and the weather office has warned of heavy rain in the state too. Several areas of Jalore and Barmer districts in Rajasthan witnessed heavy rain due to cyclone Biparjoy, which moved towards the desert state following its landfall in Gujarat, officials said. The rainfall activities in parts of Rajasthan will continue till Monday. SDRF has deployed 30 rescue teams in the rainshit dists in Rajasthan.
