Forest officers capture leopard from MNIT, relocate to Nahargarh

Jaipur: The Forest Department achieved a significant success late at night regarding the movement of leopards in the MNIT campus. The department had observed two leopards moving in the area, and one of them was captured in a trap set by the department.

Forest Officer Jagdish Gupta informed that the MNIT administration had recently sent a letter regarding their convocation ceremony, which was expected to be attended by President Draupadi Murmu. The MNIT management had also reported the movement of leopards.

Following this, three traps were initially set up, and later a larger trap was also installed in the area. Range Officer Jagdish Sharma was appointed in charge of the rescue operation.

Late at night, a male leopard was captured in the large trap. In the morning, Range Officer Devendra Singh, Jagdish Sharma, Nakha In-charge Forest Guard Krishna Kumar Meena, Forest Guards Manish Doi, Rajendra Singh, Roshan, and other personnel involved in the rescue operation released the leopard at the Nahargarh wildlife Sanctuary.

Forest Officer Jagdish Gupta mentioned that three small traps and one large trap will remain in place. Now, further efforts will also be made soon to capture the female leopard currently roaming the area.
