Fake NOC organ transplant: FIR after Home dept nod

Jaipur: In a special interview with First India, ACS Shubhra Singh stated that the “Transplantation of Human Organs” Act fully specifies the procedure for organ transplantation. This was in response to the fake NOC for an organ transplant at the SMS hospital and the subsequent revelation of the organ trade in Haryana.

Legal advice has been received from AAG, following which a proposal has been sent to the Home Department. Once approval is obtained from Home Department, an FIR will be filed in this case.

According to medical education department, the FIR will be filed by Organ Transplant Authority. Along with this, a joint team can be formed to investigate the case, which may include not only the department but also the police and the ACB. Singh has stated that various aspects have come to light in this case, hence the proposal for investigation by a joint team is under consideration. Additionally, It is believed that after the FIR is filed with the police, many more major revelations may emerge.
