Experts to review fate of BRTS Corridor in Jaipur
Jaipur: The Central Road Research Institute along with another expert agency will conduct a study to find out if the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor in the state is to be kept or done away with. This decision was taken in the Traffic Control Board of JDA.
A decision to remove BRTS corridor in Delhi and Bhopal was taken after a similar study.
The BRTS corridor was constructed in 2008 at a cost of Rs 170 crore. It was 7.1 km on Sikar Road and nine km on New Sanganer Road. But the corridor was in question due to road accidents on this route.
The State Road Safety Council had decided in January 2020 to remove the corridor but nothing happened then. The responsibility of the study was given to the same agency which designed it.
