Electrical issues at Pump House cause water shortages in Jaipur
Jaipur: Parts of Jaipur are facing significant water supply issues due to a fault in the 220 kV substation line at Dooni in Tonk. The electrical fault had led to the shutdown of the Surajpura pump house, disrupting water supply across the city.
For the past three days, intermittent faults have caused repeated shutdowns of the pump house. On May 16 and 17, the pump house was inactive for an hour each day due to electrical issues, resulting in water supply disruptions in multiple areas. On Saturday a ten-minute power fault once again halted operations at the Surajpura pump house, leading to a reduction of approximately 20 MLD (million liters per day) in the water supply. Restarting the pump house after a shutdown takes about an hour, compounding the delay in water distribution.
