Eight-lane expressway planned to ease Jaipur-Ajmer road traffic
Jaipur: In view of the increasing traffic pressure on Ajmer Road, NHAI is working on a dedicated NH plan and preparing DPR to widen the Jaipur to Kishangarh highway (90 km) to eight-lane and convert it into an expressway.
Flyovers or underpasses will be built at 10 new points from Jaipur to Kishangarh. This highway is important for going from Jaipur to Ajmer, Bhilwara, Nasirabad and other cities and Delhi. On an average, more than 1.50 lakh vehicles pass through this highway daily. NHAI Project Director Ajay Arya said that the plan is to increase the width of this highway to eight lanes. “After the DPR is made, it will be sent to MoRTH. The project would cost over Rs 1,000 crore. Currently, the work of building flyovers at Mokhampura, Bhankrota, Kamla Nehru Nagar and Padasoli junctions on this highway is going on, which is in its final stage.
The work of flyovers at Mokhampura, Padasoli and Kamla Nehru Nagar will be completed by the first week of December. Whereas the flyover being built at Bhankrota intersection may take three months or more to be built,” he said.
