Discom cancels power cuts in Tourism sector
Jaipur: The Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited on Wednesday, withdrew the order for power cuts in industrial areas of hotels and other tourism units. Tourism Minister, Vishvendra Singh had expressed his dissatisfaction with the 10-hour power cut in hotels and wrote a letter to Energy Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati on Tuesday. Vishvendra had demanded exemption of hotels from the restriction of using 5% peak demand electricity, considering the tourism industry as an essential service.
Not only this, he clearly said that tourism has got the status of an industry after a lot of struggle. If the arbitrariness of Discoms does not stop, he will leave the post of Tourism Minister and will work only as Civil Aviation Minister. The stakeholders associated with the Tourism industry, xpressed their gratitude to Vishvendra Singh.
