Crackdown on illegal drugs, 291 held in raids across Jpr

Jaipur: The Commissionerate Police raided the hideouts of criminals challaned in NDPS on Sunday. The operation was done by different police stations under the supervision of five DCPs. Police teams raided the hideouts of 995 criminals. In this campaign, a total of 349 criminals were brought to the police station for questioning, out of which 291 criminals were arrested and 33 suspicious vehicles were seized. 15 cases were registered under NDPS Act, 33 under Excise Act, two under Arms Act, 217 under Section 151 CrPC, five under Section 110 CrPC, three under Section 107/116 CrPC, four under permanent/arrest warrants and 12 in earlier cases.

Jaipur Commissioner Anand Srivastava told that such criminals in the city smuggle illegal drugs like ganja, smack, opium, cannabis etc. This raid was done to curb their criminal activities and take strict legal action against them. The crackdown on the hideouts of the criminals along with massive police raids in city has created panic among the vehicle thieves across the city. During this op, 349 people involved in illegal drug trafficking are being interrogated.
