Cong’s Kooner wins from Karanpur, defeats BJP min
Sri Ganganagar/Jaipur: Cong candidate Rupinder Singh Kooner on Monday won Karanpur Assembly poll, defeating BJP minister Surender Pal Singh TT by 11,283 votes. Kooner bagged 94,950 votes while Singh got 83,667. “I am thankful to Karanpur people who voted for me,” said Rupinder, whose late father Gurmeet Singh earlier held seat, told after winning polls. Governor Kalraj Mishra on Monday accepted the resignation letter of MoS (Independent Charge) Surender Pal Singh forwarded by CM BL Sharma with immediate effect.
