Coal Ministry gives nod to transfer of mining leases

Barmer: In Barmer’s Jalipa Kapurdi Lignite Mining Project, the Ministry of Coal, in a big relief to Raj West Power Plant, has given permission to regularise the transfer of mining leases issued in the name of RSMML in Jalipa and Kapurdi to BLMCL.

The audit report of Jalipa and Kapurdi Mines was prepared by the Accountant General Inspection Team in 2016-18, in which the mining lease of BLMCL was declared void. In April 2022, after the issue was raised in the assembly, the state government banned lignite mining.
