CM to inaugurate forest fest in Dudu on Aug 7
Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will inaugurate a state level forest festival at SDRF campus located in Gadota of Dudu on Hariyali Teej on August 7.
On this day, one crore saplings will be planted across the state. A massive plantation programme will be organized in the presence of public representatives in all the districts so that the green cover of Rajasthan can be made stronger. A total of 10,000 saplings will be planted in 15 hectares on the SDRF campus.
The CM, Deputy CM Diya Kumari, Premchand Bairwa, Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma, MLAs and officials will plant about 100 saplings of Banyan, Peepal, Gular, Pilkhan, Belpatra and Kadamba.
The total forest area in the state is 32,921 sq kms which is just 9.6 percent of the total land area of the state. The average forest cover per person here is just 0.037 percent.
