CM asks officials to remain on toes to handle the crisis
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took a review meeting on Wednesday at the CMR to review the preparations to avoid possible damage due to storm Biporjoy. There is a possibility of thunderstorm with heavy rain in Jodhpur and Udaipur divisions on June 16 and 17.
Strong winds with a speed of 60 to 70 km per hour are expected in the adjoining areas of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jalore and Jodhpur on 16th June and in the adjoining areas of Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ajmer on 17th June.
Due to the storm, there is a possibility of water logging, damage to houses and uprooting of electric poles and trees and plants in the low-lying areas of south-west Rajasthan.
Gehlot said that administration should be prepared for the rescue and relief of the common people in the districts which are likely to be affected. Disaster Management Minister Govind Ram Meghwal, Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria, Minister of State for Disaster Management Ashok Chandna, Minister of State for Home Rajendra Yadav, CS Usha Sharma, DGP Umesh Mishra, Secretary Disaster Management PC Kishan attended the meeting.
