Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant to oversee e-bus project in urban areas
Jaipur: The Bhajan Lal govt has tasked Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant with launching an e-bus service and overseeing the construction of depots and necessary infrastructure. The e-bus project aims to introduce eco-friendly transport solutions in urban areas, ensuring accessible public transport services to people.
A state-level steering committee, chaired by Pant, has been constituted to meticulously monitor project, from approving e-depot proposals to their implementation. As part of the initiative, 500 electric buses will be procured under the PM e-Bus Seva Scheme, with e-depots in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, and Bhilwara.
Members of the committee include the Additional Chief Secretaries of Finance, Energy, and Transport, along with Principal Secretaries of Urban Development Housing (UDH) department and Local Self Government department, and the MD of JCTSL.
