Thebookoholics joins hands with Jaipur Police to promote reading
On the occasion of World Book Day, the Jaipur-based reader's community, Bookoholics, joined hands with the Jaipur Traffic Police to promote reading habits among people. A special readers' lounge was set up at the bustling Rambagh Bagh circle, inaugurated by Traffic DCP Prahlad Singh.
They distributed more than 100 free books. The books distributed by The Bookoholics covered a wide range of genres, including fiction, non-fiction, and books in Hindi.
By setting up the book lounge at a busy intersection, they wanted to attract the attention of passersby and promote reading among the public at large. It attracted the attention of a diverse group of people, ranging from college students to office-goers and daily wage workers.
The response was incredible, with people of all ages and backgrounds expressing their joy and gratitude for receiving books for free.
The Bookoholics is among the largest communities of readers, with over 10 lacs followers on social media. Their initiative was supported by the followers who contributed in cash & kind.
Hopefully, this campaign will help remind people of the joys of reading and the value that books bring to our lives.
