Biju G Joseph takes charge as Commissioner
Jaipur: Biju George Joseph, 1995 batch IPS officer, joined as Jaipur Commissioner on Thursday. Anand Srivastava received him at the Commissionerate. Joseph was given a guard of honour on his arrival at the Commissionerate.
Ten IPS officers welcomed him. Joseph said that this is a position of great responsibility and all policemen must endeavour to change the perspective of the common towards the police.
Biju George Joseph said that committing a crime was not as big as the criminal not being caught. “Some changes are needed in the way police functions. People will be sensitised about cyber crimes. In Jaipur, police will take strict actions against the miscreants. It is the duty of the policemen that criminals are caught and punished in such a way that deters them from committing crime again and becoming repeat offenders.
A special team will be deployed to fight the problem of gang violence and organised crime. Every possible effort will be made to control crime. With the cooperation of officers here, good policing will be done in Jaipur,” Joseph said.
