Benami assets worth Rs 50 cr seized from Jodh businessman
Jaipur: The Delhi authorities have confirmed the seizure of benami properties valued at over Rs 50 crore under the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act. The Income Tax Dept’s Benami Prohibition Unit in Jaipur has confiscated more than 140 properties linked to Mahaveer Lunia, owner of Maharani Exports in Jodhpur’s Paota area.These assets, which include agricultural, commercial, and residential properties, have an estimated market value exceeding Rs 150 crore. Lunia is accused of acquiring these properties through fictitious companies. The investigation was launched after a June 16, 2022, raid.
