Asiatic lion, African cheetah to add to state’s pride; tiger & bird safari in N’garh

Jaipur: Rajasthan, rich in wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, plans to introduce the Asiatic lion and the African cheetah which would be a feather in its cap.

Wildlife conservationist MK Ranjit Singh’s efforts have paved way for bringing the cheetah to India.

Palpur Kuno, Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary, Nauradehi of Madhya Pradesh and Shergarh Sanctuary and Mukundra Tiger Reserve of Rajasthan are being considered suitable for the cheetah.

Nahargarh has been developed as Lion Safari Park, soon Tiger and Bird Safari will also be started here, according to wildlife experts.
