Amid LSG notice, Mayor Munesh resumes work
Jaipur: Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage’s Mayor Munesh Gurjar resumed work on Thursday, a day after the Rajasthan HC stayed her suspension following her husband’s arrest in a bribery case.
At the same time, another notice was served to her in connection with alleged misbehavior with the then additional commissioner Rajendra Verma. Gurjar was suspended by the state government on August 5. She had challenged the suspension in the Rajasthan High Court which stayed the suspension order on Wednesday.
With the court’s order in her favour, Gurjar wasted no time in resuming her responsibilities. Supporters gathered at the municipal corporation headquarters as she returned to her office on Thursday. Gurjar had condemned her suspension, labeling it a “political conspiracy” aimed at her and her family. She marked her return by visiting the Govinddevji temple and Moti Dungri Ganeshji temple earlier prior to the office.
Expressing her gratitude for relief, Mayor Gurjar emphasized her faith in God. Gurjar said she would meet CM to discuss the incident in detail. The mayor reached her office in municipal corporation headquarters on Thursday and resumed work in the presence of her supporters.
