All preps in place, polling parties take command: Praveen Gupta
Jaipur: All preparations for voting in 12 Lok Sabha seats going to polls under first phase on Friday have been completed. Voting will take place at 24,370 polling stations. This includes 719 auxiliary polling stations, 5,729 urban and 17,922 rural booths.
Also, to encourage voting, 768 polling stations each will be operated by women and youth and 96 polling stations will be operated by disabled personnel.
The departure of polling parties from Jaipur to the polling booths for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on Friday started from Thursday morning. By afternoon, all the polling parties had taken command of the polling booths in their respective areas.
In Jaipur on Thursday, 4213 polling parties left in two shifts from Bhawani Niketan College on Sikar Road, Jamia Tul Hidaya University on Jamvaramgarh Road and Rajasthan College on JLN Marg. The polling teams left with EVMs, VVPATs and voting materials.
