After MoU 3 Shekhawati dists to get water from Tajewala Head
Jaipur: CM Bhajan Lal Sharma reached Jaipur on Monday, two days after signing a historic MoU to bring Yamuna water from Tajewala Head Works to Shekhawati region. People extended a warm welcome to CM at Jaipur Airport. Even after the Yamuna Water Agreement signed in 1994, Rajasthan was deprived of Yamuna water. As soon as the government was formed, CM Sharma took the initiative to resolve this issue by discussing and correspondence with the GoI and the Govt of Haryana. Due to his efforts, an MoU has been signed to bring water by laying pipeline from Tajewala Head Works within 2 months of govt’s tenure.
It is noteworthy that a tripartite MoU was signed in New Delhi on February 17 in the presence of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra S Shekhawat and Haryana CM ML Khattar. Under this MOU signed between the Centre, Haryana & Raj Govts, it was agreed to prepare DPR for the flow system from Tajewala Head. After scheme implementation, Rajasthan will access Yamuna River water from Tajewala Head Works, effectively utilising rainwater wastage.
