AdSP Divya row: DA case against constable by ACB
Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against terminated constable Sumit who had demanded a bribe of Rs two crore on behalf of suspended Additional SP Divya Mittal.
Sumit, who supposedly acted as middleman for Divya Mittal, earned 523.34 percent more assets than his known source of income. AdSP Divya Mittal allegedly also used to transfer money to the bank accounts of Sumit.
Sumit had been posted in the excise department in Udaipur and Banswara districts of the state. He used to deposit bribe amounts received from liquor mafia to his bank accounts.
RPS Divya Mitta was posted as Additional SP SOG when Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested her based on a complaint filed with them for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 2 crore through Sumit.
AdSP Divya Mittal gets bail from Raj HC in excise case
AdSP Divya Mittal, who was arrested by ACB in bribery case, got bail from High Court in excise case. Vacation court Justice Nupur Bhati granted her bail. A petition for cancellation of the FIR was registered in Ambamata police station. Advocate Naman Mahnot presented Mittal’s side. Liquor bottles were found in Mittal’s, Nature Hills and Resort located in Chikalwas near Udaipur. A case was registered under the Excise Act. He said that Mittal has been made an accused at the behest of an employee, which is a violation of Section 25 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
