Adequate power supply is govt’s priority: Gehlot

Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot while addressing the review meeting of Energy Department at CMR on Friday, said that State govt is making every possible effort to provide sufficient electricity to domestic consumers as well as agriculture. He directed the officers to ensure adequate availability of electricity in time, so that the power supply is not affected under any circumstances.

Gehlot a “Providing adequate electricity to the common man is the priority of State govt.” The CM instructed officials that work of repairing or replacing damaged transformers in rural areas due to rain should be done quickly. He also directed officials to issue agricultural power connections on time, to make maximum visits to the area and for strong monitoring. Gehlot reviewed in detail average demand and availability of electricity in all 3 discoms, transformer replacement, availability of coal and progress in issuing agricultural electricity connections. Officials apprised CM about efforts being made to meet power demand, demand side management & receiving feedback regarding the power reduction & work of transformer replacement is under progress at a fast pace, they said.
