ACB nabs JMCH Mayor’s husband, 2 others for graft

Jaipur: On Friday, the ACB team raided the house of Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation Mayor Munesh Gurjar and detained Mayor’s husband - Sushil Gurjar - and two touts. Sushil was later arrested for involvement in bribe demand of Rs 2 lakh allegedly through middlemen in lieu of making lease deed or pattas. The ACB is also probing mayor’s role in the case. Notably, from the search at JMCH Mayor’s husband’s residence, Rs 40 lakh cash were found whereas Rs 8L cash found in search of agent’s residence. ‘ACB also interrogated Mayor’ PA Narayan and Anil at mayor’s residence,’ said ADG ACB Hemant Priyadarshy.

Notably, the ACB has arrested the middlemen identified as Narayan Singh while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a complainant who had approached ACB. Based on involvement in matter another middleman Anil Dubey and Mayor’s husband Sushil Gurjar were also arrested.

Officials said that further investigation will be done by taking all three to the ACB headquarters. Moreover, officials revealed that bureau sleuths investigated many files and the gates of the Municipal Corporation were also closed as the team searched files related to pattas.

ACB recovered 22 more files and documents related to the trap and has also received information about many bank accounts. Along with this, documents of many properties were found.

Meanwhile, Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas & MLA Rafeek Khan together patted ACB on trap of Mayor’s husband as both were angry with Mayor Munesh’s working style.

Commenting on trap, LoP Rajendra Rathore & BJP State Prez CP Joshi said that Rajasthan is burning in the furnace of corruption.
