107 actions in first 6 days of month; 110 vehicles seized
Jaipur: The State Mining Department is continuing its crackdown against illegal mining activities in the state. ACS (Mines) Veenu Gupta informed that in the first six-days of November itself, 110 vehicles and other machines were seized in 107 different actions at various places.
“A total of Rs. 4.70 crores were deposited in the state treasury. The mining mafia has increased illegal activity due to assembly elections and the department is working on an active mode against such activities,” said ACS Veenu Gupta.
Director (Mines) Tara Chand Meena said that due to strict action by field officers, more than 837 actions have been taken in one month and seizure of vehicles, machinery and recovery of fines have been done.
“Statewide action against the mining mafia has started yielding positive results. FIRs have also been registered against the offenders with apprpriate action being taken and regular review meetings are held at ACS Mines and DMG level,” said Tara Chand Meena.
