10-YEAR HIATUS OF TERMINAL-1 TO END
Jaipur: After 10 years, the operations at the Terminal-1 of Jaipur International Airport will restart from May 21. The Haj flights will start operating from here from May 21 after which the scheduled flights will also start operating. Terminal-1 of the airport was closed on 16 July 2013.
In the last few months, the airport administration made efforts to restart it, but it did not fructify. The Airport Authority of India had completed the construction of Terminal-1. Terminal-1 has been redeveloped and been given a heritage look. After taking over the operations, the Adani group had talked about improving it considering some technical flaws in its construction.
However, the absence of an aerobridge at Terminal-1 is a major drawback. It is necessary to have an aerobridge for the operation of any international flight. Boarding and deboarding of passengers from the aerobridge also provides convenience for agencies like custom, immigration, etc.
