Nepal Bus Tragedy: Driver, cleaner held by local authority
Gangapur City: Three including one bus driver driver and 2 cleaners were detained by Nepal police as six people were killed and 12 others including two children were injured when a bus in which they were travelling overturned and fell at a river bed near Churiamai in Nepal. The victims were from Mahukalan village in Gangapur City.
They were returning from Pashupatinath temple when the driver of the bus lost control over it and the bus overturned and fell at a river bed late on Wednesday night. Six passengers lost their lives, including two elderly couples and two women. At the same time, twelve people including two children were injured in the mishap. The accident survivor Anil said he suddenly woke up when the bus was being driven in a rash manner. Before the driver could control the bus, it fell at the riverbed. The injured are being treated at local hospitals.
The deceased were identified as Vaijayanti Devi (67), Satyavati (66), Bahadur Singh (62), his wife Meera Devi (60), and Rajendra (66) along with his wife Srikanta Devi (58).
