Wanted gangster from Salman Tyagi gang held in Delhi
New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested a member of the notorious Salman Tyagi-Saddam Gauri gang who had been absconding for more than four years in MCOC Act registered against him and his associates, an official said on Saturday.
The arrested gangster identified as Mustafa Tyagi, a resident of Delhi’s Tihar village has been accused in the May 2022 murder case of businessman Ajay Chaudhary.
He is also accused in a total of five criminal cases, of murder, attempt to murder, abduction, extortion, robbery, Arms Act, etc. in Delhi.
Tyagi has a case registered against him and his syndicate at the Hari Nagar police station in 2019.
Upon receiving information of movements of the absconding criminal Mustafa Tyagi in the West Delhi area, the Special Cell/SR deployed teams to track him, as the accused was frequently changing his hideouts in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to evade arrest.
A team led by Inspector Shiv Kumar nabbed him on Wednesday morning from Rajdhani Park in Nangloi. One semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore with three live cartridges was recovered from his possession.
A case under appropriate sections of law has been registered at the Special Cell police station.
Mustafa Tyagi is the uncle of Salman Tyagi, the head of the gang. Members of Salman Tyagi are closely associated with the Neeraj Bawana gang.
