Traffic affected in Delhi's Uttam Nagar area due to demonstration against water issue
New Delhi: Traffic was briefly affected on Tuesday morning in Uttam Nagar area when residents, more than a hundred in number, demonstrated against water supply issue in the area, police said.
A senior police officer said that around 8.30 am, about 100 to 150 people came out for the protest. They protested for around an hour over issues related to water supply in their area. Later, they were dispersed from the area, the officer said.
Delhi Traffic Police also took to Twitter to provide an update on the traffic affected by the demonstration.
"Traffic is affected on Main Najafgarh road in the carriageway from Uttam Nagar towards Dwarka Mor and vice-versa due to demonstration. Traffic has been diverted from Uttam Nagar Chowk towards Pankha road. Kindly avoid the stretch," it tweeted.
Later, the traffic was back to normal in the area, police added. (PTI)
