Chief Justice Akil Kureshi gets retired, a reference event held at Jodh
Jodhpur: A reference programme was held in Raj HC Jodhpur on retirement of CJ Akil Kureshi which was attended by judges of Jodhpur main bench. Judges of the Jaipur bench virtually attended programme.
Acting CJ MM Srivastava read reference. Advocate General MM Singhvi, Raj HC Advocate Association Jodhpur President Nathu Singh Rathore, Bar Council of Raj President Rajesh Panwar, Raj HC Lawyers Association President Sunil Joshi, Jaipur Bar Association secretary Giriraj termed brief tenure of Kureshi as historic.
Addressing reference programme, Kureshi mentioned shortage of judges, attributing it to the burden and burnout effect on judges. “When I joined, there were 36 judges. I do not think this number was ever crossed but work has increased manifold.”
