Pune car crash: Teen's parents accused for blood sample manipulations sent to police custody till June 10
Pune (Maharashtra): The district court in Pune on Wednesday has sent to police custody till June 10 the parents of the teenager accused in the luxury car crash case, in which two persons were killed.
Sasson Hospital doctors Dr Srihari Halnor, Dr Ajay Taware and Atul Ghatkamble have been sent on police custody till June 7.
The Pune Police produced the parents of the minor accused, two Sassoon Hospital Doctors Dr Ajay Tawre and Dr Srihari Halnor and one staffer, Atul Ghatkamble before the district court on Wednesday.
All five were arrested in connection with blood sample manipulations of the minor accused.
Earlier on Sunday, a holiday court in Pune sent both the mother and father of the minor accused into police custody until June 5.
The Crime Branch Investigator informed the court in Pune on Sunday that there are multiple people on the radar of the police who are suspected to be involved in the manipulation of the blood sample of the minor accused.
"The father and mother of the minor accused were involved in the conspiracy and destruction of the evidence. Both had gone to the hospital and were involved in manipulating the blood sample of the minor accused.Blood sample was taken to ascertain the alcohol content in the blood of the minor," the Pune Police said.
The police also informed the court that they had "evidence that the blood sample of the minor accused was changed with the mother's blood.
Police have also verified it with the CCTV footage available at the Sassoon hospital. Therefore, both father and mother have been booked under IPC sections 120b and 201."
The teenager had ploughed his swanky luxury car into the two IT professionals, who were travelling on a bike, killing them on the spot on the night of May 19.
