Protest against Khejri tree cutting shuts Bikaner
Bikaner: Bikaner remained closed on Thursday on the call by the All India Vishnoi Mahasabha protesting against the cutting of Khejri trees. Various organizations have supported the bandh, including Cong and BJP leaders, as well as traders. Leaders have come together to oppose the felling of trees by solar companies.
Environmentalists and the Vishnoi community are deeply affected by the cutting of Khejri trees. The bandh was called under the leadership of Devendra Budhiya, the national president of the Mahasabha. BJP leader Devisingh Bhati has also supported the bandh, as have former ministers BD Kalla, Bhavnar Singh Bhati, and several other leaders. The talks were held but failed, and the Vishnoi community will gather again on December 30 .
