Prepare a plan & run a campaign for prevention of anemia, CS Arya directs WCD department officials

Jaipur: CS Niranjan Arya said community based programmes at anganwadi centres have created awareness among people. Under the programme, pregnancy counselling, annaprashan, nutrition and public health messages have helped people become more aware.

Arya was presiding over the meeting of the State Nutrition Convergence Committee held at Secretariat on Friday.

Arya directed the departments concerned for speedy redressal of problems like construction of anganwadi building, toilets and ensuring drinking water supply.

Department of Women & Child Development & Medicine has been given instructions to prepare a plan and run a campaign for prevention of anemia.

Appraising the progress related to nutrition, Principal Secretary, Women & Child Development, Sreya Guha said that department has developed a nutrition tracker app.

“The details of beneficiaries are being entered by anganwadi workers on app. Nutrition gardens are also being developed at anganwadi centres,” Guha said.

Commissioner Integrated Child Development Services, Urmila Rajoria said wheat, rice & dal are being distributed as supplementary nutritional material.
