Pink Joshi, the beacon of light for inclusivity, receives Mid-Day Power Woman Awards
When we utter the name, Pink Joshi, society looks upon her with respect and love. Such is the image carved by this woman of strength and resilience. Pink Joshi has now been awarded The Mid-Day Power Woman Awards at The Orchid, at the hands of ace designer Archana Kochchar and Mid-Day Sales Head Rahul Shukla.
A staunch believer that your work defines you, not your gender, Pink came to Mumbai to carve a niche for herself.
"This was 15 years ago. I was training in beauty. I often came across women being subjected to physical abuse, mental abuse, and verbal abuse, and society did not give them equal rights. The same went for trans people. There was so much discrimination, lack of education, no job opportunities, transphobia, psychological stress, social exclusion and homelessness, marginalisation, sexual harassment, mental issues, extreme poverty, violence, and being victims of hate crimes... Those who want to do transformational surgeries fell prey to quacks." Empathy was the key, and Pink was known for her large-heartedness.
"I have always treated my team as my family. The more people I came in touch with, the more I was shocked by their pain."
Understanding the need for inclusivity, Pink began holding hands with those in need and guided them. Today, Pink is a beacon of light to all those Lives she transformed. "My real wealth lies in these blessings. I am glad I can hold hands and let tears turn into smiles with guidance and counselling and guide to the best doctors for transformational surgeries when needed. It is important to know someone truly cares. And that is all I do. Care, love and guide those in need. The rest is all God's bidding."
