People come to U'khand to find themselves, hence this state should not change: Dhami

Dehradun: Bharat 24's 'Mahamanthan' was organised in Dehradun on Tuesday, wherein, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the programme. During this, CM Dhami gave his reaction regarding UCC and said, "UCC will be implemented this year according to the Constitution." CM also assured action on illegal encroachment.

Senior leaders from state like Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Harish Rawat were also present in the programme. During this, Nishank claimed of winning 5 Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand. During this, Harish Rawat also presented his 'vision of New Uttarakhand' and said, "History is made by those, who face the challenges. Rahul Gandhi is our leader."

During a discussion with Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Bharat24's Rubika Liyaquat questioned the reason behind bringing a law against religious conversion. "Conversion was like a tick that had caught hold of Uttarakhand. People were being duped through lures or through cooked up stories. This was going on at a lot many places. Some people took it as a mission, some were executing said conversions as a means of demographic change and some were doing it as a conspiracy. So, it needed to be stopped because not just the people of Uttarakhand, but people from across the world have their faith in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and not just me but every citizens of Uttarakhand wants that the authentic culture of this state should remain intact. So, the spirit of Uttarakhand should remain which is expressed through its forests, through the various sites, through the revered rivers etc. So people come here to find themselves, they come here for to find religion, spirituality etc. Hence the form should not change or end," Dhami said.

Meanwhile, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat24, Dr Jagdeesh Chandra also addressed the programme and said, "To the layman, Uttarakhand would appear to be just another state, but it is more than just a state. Uttarakhand is an extension of the Prime Minister as he resides in these mountains and these mountains reside in him. Today, when we talk about Badrinath, Kedarnath or Uttarakhand, a huge face is seen and that is of Narendra Modi. Today, there is no project of Uttarakhand which does not have a stamp of Narendra Modi, be it Char Dham Yatra, renovation of KedarnathBadrinath, startup, railway budget of Rs 500 crore, rope projects and there are still many more, one can keep on counting. The vision PM Modi has to develop Uttarakhand, looking at that, I would say that PM Modi has become the brand ambassador for Uttarakhand."
