OMG! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s name comes forward in an identity theft case
Mumbai (Maharashtra): While identity theft is not a new issue when it comes to Bollywood celebrities, every time a new case comes along, it shocks everyone. What was supposed to be a heist to catch fraudsters that duped a retired army colonel of Rs 1.81 crores, turned out to be bigger than it seemed. It also led to an identity theft case which involved none other than Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. According to the UP Police, the three perpetrators were foreign nationals with two of them from Nigeria and one from Ghana.

According to a report by India.com, a fake passport with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s face on it was retrieved from the culprits who were caught in Greater Noida. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Greater Noida, Abhishek Verma said in his statement that along with the passport, the perpetrators possessed money worth USD 3,000 and 10,500 pounds.
The police also seized fake Indian currencies summing up to Rs 10.76 crores along with bundles of fake British pounds and US dollars from the habitat of the culprits. The devices used to print the fake currencies along with 11 SIM cards, 6 mobile phones, laptops, and printers were retrieved from their house, DCP Verma said.
