MP: Congress leader seeks permission to recite Sunderkand Path on worker's birthday inside police station, cites BJP worker allowed to do so

Bhopal: Congress leader PC Sharma has sought permission to recite 'Sunderkand Path' at the TT Nagar police station in Bhopal on the occasion of his party worker's birthday stating that previously similar permission was granted to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Sharma also wrote a letter to the TT Nagar police station in-charge dated July 18 in this regard and sought permission to organise the 'Sunderkand Path' reading in the police station on July 20.
"It is requested that the birthday of our Congress worker Bunty Jain is on July 20. We all want to organise a Sunderkand Path in TT Nagar police station on his birthday to pray for his long life. Just like the permission was granted for reciting Sunderkand path on Thursday, July 18 on the birthday of BJP worker Naresh Jadhav in Ashoka Garden police station. In the same way, permission should be granted to us to organise Sunderkand path on Saturday, July 20 in TT Nagar police station," Sharma wrote in the letter.
Congress leader Sharma told ANI, "We have also submitted an application that our party worker Bunty Jain's birthday falls on July 20 and we want to organise a Sunderkand Path in TT Nagar police station on his birthday praying for his long life. We have asked permission for the same."
Former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, state Congress chief Jitu Patwari and leader of Opposition (LoP) Umang Singhar are going to meet the Commissioner of Police (CP), Bhopal) to request him to allow the celebration of birthdays of various workers in various police stations.
Sunderkand Path was recited to celebrate the birthdays of BJP workers in Ashoka Garden police station, so the permission should also be given to the Congress workers to recite Sunderkand Path in TT Nagar police station, the Congress leader said.
"If permission was given there, then it has to be given here as well, otherwise we will knock on the door of the court. If permission has been given to one party, then it should also be given to the other party," Sharma further said.
Notably, former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, State Congress President Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar along with Congress workers were stopped outside the Ashoka Garden police station on Thursday.
The leaders were on their way to register an FIR against state Minister Vishwas Sarang in connection with the nursing scam when they were stopped outside the police station on the pretext that since Sunderkand path was being recited in the police station, they should submit their application outside the premises.
