Karan Johar impresses audiences after touching Nagarjuna’s feet and dismissing Bollywood-Tollywood titles

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Karan Johar has several films coming out this year including the biggest release of 2022, Brahmastra. The makers were gearing up for a big promotional event in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City but due to many reasons, the event was cancelled last minute. The makers then had a quiet press conference which was attended by so many powerful personalities from the Indian film industry. Along with the cast and crew of Brahmastra, the event was attended by host SS Rajamouli and chief guest Jr NTR.

While everyone had many touching and respectful words to say about each other, out of all the moments, a gesture made by producer Karan Johar stuck with the audience. It is a known fact that Nagarjuna Akkineni is a loved figure, not just in the South but in the Hindi film industry as well. The actor is very famous for his acting but is also known to be a humble person as well. The Shiva star has been constant support when it comes to promoting the film in the South and this time was no different.

Karan Johar while praising his work and support in the film, said, “When I speak of a large heart, I speak of none other than Naag sir. I cannot even begin to tell you…” and while saying so, he went and touched Nagarjuna’s feet. The gesture not only touched hearts but showed the respect that the cast share for each other.

The filmmaker further dismissed the titles of Bollywood and Tollywood and emphasized that it is one big Indian Film Industry. “We are in our own tiny way trying to penetrate through every corner of the country. Rightly like SS Rajamouli sir said, this is Indian cinema, let’s not call it anything else. We keep giving it a wood, Bollywood, Tollywood. We are not in the woods anymore. We are now proudly part of the Indian cinema.”
