Joint director, 2 others held for taking ₹1.60 lakh bribe

Dungarpur: Udaipur ACB team arrested the joint director, doctor and compounder of Animal Husbandry Department here for taking a bribe of Rs 1.60 lakh in lieu of passing the bill of 20 goat units.

Udaipur ACB DSP Heramb Joshi said that Abhishek Rawal, managing director of M/s Vagad Got and Polti Farm Padardi, a resident of Shastri Colony of Dungarpur city registered a complaint on Monday.

Rawal said that on February 11, a tender for supply of 59 goat units (5 goats and one goat in one unit) was received by the department and Rs 52,000 was fixed per unit.

The ACB laid a trap and arrested senior Dr Javed Khan red-handed at the Bramhasthali house while taking the bribe.

The accused is said to have taken the bribe at the behest of Joint Director Dr Upendra Singh Mahlawat. After this, the ACB sent the complainant and Dr Khan to the Dungarpur Animal Husbandry Department’s office.

The Joint Director asked to give this amount to the livestock assistant Anil Bhagora.
