How branding Rashmi Thackeray as Maha’s ‘Rabri Devi’ a compliment & not an insult to Maha CM’s wife!
Mumbai: A bizarre kind of politics is being done in Maharashtra these days. BJP’s social media cell chief Jiten Gajaria compared CM Uddhav Thackeray’s wife—Rashmi Thackeray—to former Bihar CM Rabri Devi.
This infuriated Shiv Sena leaders and the furious leaders termed it an insult to Rashmi Thackeray.
Just imagine, how is it an insult to compare Rashmi to the first woman CM of a major state like Bihar and a woman politician with a spotless political life?
It is certainly a fact that Rabri Devi was less educated, but she was Bihar’s CM for almost 8 years and except for the first few days, she conducted in politics diligently and ran the government.
Actually Jiten Gajaria had posted a photo of Rashmi with remarks: ‘Marathi Rabri Devi’. Since then, there has been an uproar in entire Maharashtra.
The police filed a case against him and after interrogating Jiten for four hours they released him. Kishori Pednekar, a leader of Shiv Sena and Mayor of Mumbai, became extremely agitated over the development and said, “Who is Jiten Gajaria?
He switched from NCP to BJP like a kangaroo and today he is making such derogatory remarks about the women of Maharashtra, about Rashmi Bhabhi!” In response to Mumbai Mayor, BJP’s Ram Kadam, instead of criticizing Kishori’s remark, said that police didn’t take any action when a minister in Maharashtra government had made derogatory remarks about Hema Malini.
This means, even in the eyes of the BJP, this comparison is an indecent remark! This is about the upper caste, cosmopolitan and so called ‘educated’ section of the society who still considers it to be indecent to be compared to a backward caste woman from a backward state, who is not facing any charges and who has been the CM of Bihar for eight years.
Actually this is not an insult to Rashmi Thackeray, but to Rabri Devi, which was done by a BJP leader first, & thereafter the Shiv Sainiks joined in.
Surprisingly, all leaders of Bihar are also keeping silent. The Thackeray family is also not saying anything, while late Bal Thackeray’s father Prabodhankar Thackeray himself wrote that his ancestors had left Bihar and reached Maharashtra.
