Goldsmith arrested in Sonam Kapoor’s Delhi Residence Robbery Case

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s Delhi residence has recently been in the news not for its grandeur interior but a more serious reason. The house was robbed of 2.41 crore worth of jewellery and cash. A complaint was filed by Sonam Kapoor’s mother-in-law, Priya Ahuja on February 23 and Delhi Police had launched a thorough investigation into the matter.

A goldsmith who has stolen jewellery was arrested by the Delhi Police. The jeweller, Dev Varma is a resident of Kalkaji. According to PTI, the police recovered 100 diamonds, six gold chains, diamond bangles, a diamond bracelet, two tops, and one brass coin that totalled up to Rs 1 crore.

Previously, 30-year-old Aparna Ruth Wilson, Anand Ahuja’s 86-year-old grandmother’s nurse, was arrested along with her husband Naresh Kumar Sagar. The duo was accused of stealing the jewellery and cash from the locker of Sarla Ahuja, Anand Ahuja’s grandmother. Reportedly, the accused also bought an i10 car with the stolen cash.

The police are currently working on retrieving the further money.
