"Ex-Jharkhand CM running government from jail": BJP's Nishikant Dubey
Ranchi: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and MP Nishikant Dubey on Friday accused former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren of running the government from jail via FaceTime.
He emphasized that Soren is in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and now, the Supreme Court has denied him bail.
In a post on X, Dubey called on the Mumbai Police to question Soren in the rape case against him filed at Bandra Police Station.
"Phone rule will stop," Dubey added in his post.
"Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is running the government through FaceTime from jail, he is in the custody of ED, now even the Supreme Court has refused bail. Mumbai Police is requested to take him to Mumbai for questioning in the rape case that you are investigating against former Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the complaint filed in Bandra Police Station. Phone rule will stop," Dubey wrote on X.
On May 22, the Supreme Court declined to entertain former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's petition as it noted the petitioner has not disclosed the facts that the trial court has taken cognizance of the chargesheet in the matter and his bail plea is pending in special court.
A bench of justices, Dipankar Datta and Satish Chandra Sharma, noted the facts that Soren, in his petition seeking interim bail and challenging his arrest, has concealed various facts related to the matter.
Hemant Soren, who filed the petition through advocate Pragya Baghel, called his arrest illegal and malafide and sought interim bail.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Chairperson Hemant Soren was arrested by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) in the land scam case in January. He also faces allegations of money laundering.
The probe pertains to huge amounts of proceeds allegedly generated from crime by forging official records by showing 'fake sellers' and purchasers in the guise of forged or bogus documents to acquire huge parcels of land valued in crores.
