Delhi: PWD worker killed after speeding SUV rams his stationary goods vehicle at Shastri Park
New Delhi: A 32-year-old PWD worker was killed after a speeding SUV rammed his stationary goods vehicle in the Shastri Park area of New Delhi, officials said.
According to the officials, the deceased was identified as Sohan, a staffer with the Public Works Department (PWD) who owned the goods carrier.
Officials added that a PCR call was received at 1:48 am on Friday at Shastri Park police station, informing that an accident had occurred at GT Road, near Yudhishthir Setu, in Shastri Park.
Sharing further details of the accident, police said that the victim was installing a sign indicator notice board on a pole placed on a road divider when the speeding SUV hit his parked goods carrier from behind, squashing the PWD employee to death.
"The driver of the SUV was also injured in the accident. Both the SUV and the goods carrier were badly damaged and had to be towed away from the scene," the official added.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the accident, police informed.
Further investigation is underway. (ANI)
