New Delhi: A 20-year-old man has been stabbed to death at Sangam Vihar in Delhi, said police on Sunday. Eight minors have been apprehended in connection with the incident, the police added.
According to Delhi Police, a PCR call was received at Sangam Vihar Police Station on Saturday at around 7.30 p.m. that a person named Dilshad, 20, a resident of Sangam Vihar, was admitted to Majidia Hospital near Tughlakabad with stab injuries and his condition is critical.
On receipt of the PCR call a police team reached Majidia Hospital and found the injured Dilshad admitted and under treatment in critical condition with multiple stab injuries on the chest and other parts of the body. He was on a ventilator and was later admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. He was unfit to give his statement, said the police.
A case under sections 307/34 of IPC was registered and an investigation was taken up.
"During the investigation of the case, the scene of the crime was inspected by the crime team, and the DVR (digital video recorder) capturing the scene of the crime was seized. The weapon of offence (knife) has been recovered and eight persons seen in the CCTV footage have been apprehended. All are minors. The injured succumbed to his injuries on Sunday," said a statement from the police.
According to the police past rivalry led to the alleged murder of the deceased. Further investigation is on. (ANI)
