Court issues arrest warrant against Ektaa Kapoor and her mother due to her series XXX

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Ektaa Kapoor always knows what content her viewers need and precisely delivers that. As she once said, her range is based on the viewing platform and the type of audience she wants to attract. Her OTT website, ALTBalaji has some of the most viewed series making it a very successful online viewing platform. Her OTT series XXX is an erotic comedy-drama that focuses on different aspects of sexual relationships in each episode. While the first season had come out in 2018, the second season premiered in 2022.

But the series has caused Ektaa immense trouble as an arrest warrant has been issued against her and her mother, Shobha Kapoor on the charges of insulting soldiers and hurting the sentiments of their families through the web series, PTI reported. The arrest warrant was issued by judge Vijay Kumar based on a complaint filed by Shambhu Kumar.

Kumar who himself is an ex-serviceman is a resident of Begusarai. In his complaint, he mentioned that there are several objectionable scenes in the series related to the wife of a soldier. Advocate Hrishikesh Pathak told PTI that the summons had been issued and the court asked the mother-daughter duo to appear before the court in connection to the matter.

He said, “They (referring to Ektaa and Shobha Kapoor), however, informed the court that certain scenes in the series were removed after the objection. But they did not appear before the court following which the warrant was issued against them.”
