Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai flags off 15 Interceptor vehicles to prevent road accidents

Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off 15 new Interceptor vehicles to prevent road accidents in the state at CM House, in the state capital Raipur on Friday.
CM Sai also inquired about the utility and technical features of the vehicles. The interceptor vehicle is equipped with modern facilities and will be able to check the speed of the vehicle and the sound of the vehicle from 500 metres away. Along with this, 360-degree rotating cameras have also been installed in it which will keep an eye on all round the activities.
"Experts said that these interceptor vehicles were equipped with speed radar guns, breath analyzers, and surveillance cameras. With this, the transparency of the glass of the vehicles and the intensity of the sound can also be checked. With the help of vehicles, strict action will be taken against overspeeding, drinking and driving and violation of road safety rules. The Chief Minister also appealed to the people of the state to follow the traffic rules," CM office posted on X.
After flagging off the vehicles, CM Sai told reporters, "Today is a historic day, 15 interceptor vehicles have been flagged off to prevent road accidents in the state. These vehicles are equipped with modern technology, it has a speed radar gun, breath analyzer, surveillance camera, light metre, sound metre and machine to check the transparency of the glass of the vehicles."
"As of now, there are 15 vehicles and they are being sent to 15 districts, this will definitely reduce road accidents. Action will be taken against those who drive at high speed or drive under the influence of liquor," he added.
Meanwhile, Traffic AIG (Additional Inspector General) Sanjay Sharma said, "There are several advanced facilities that have been provided in the interceptor vehicle. These vehicles are equipped with facilities like speed checking machines, breath analyzers, 360 cameras, sound check machines, etc. 15 interceptors are being dispatched to 15 districts from today, soon vehicles will be provided to other districts."
Rotating chairs have also been installed in the vehicle so that it can control the equipment installed behind the vehicle. Four police personnel will be deployed in one vehicle, he added.
Many times cases of dispute with people also come to the fore during the challan procedure, therefore a 360-degree rotating camera has been installed in the vehicle. A body camera has also been installed on all the police personnel. They have also been trained to use the state-of-the-art facilities installed in the vehicle and to ensure that there is no problem in using the facilities. A WhatsApp group has also been created through which any technical problems that are arising can be resolved as soon as possible, the officer added.
