Blow to Khadse as wife loses milk union poll

Mumbai: Former Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Eknath Khadse has been thwarted by the ruling coalition of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena in his bastion of Jalgaon’s Muktainagar.

Khadse and his family have ruled the roost at the Jalgaon district Milk Union for the past several years. Recently, however, Khadse’s wife Manda Khadse was defeated by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mangesh Chavan, the candidate of Kisan Panel.

There were 39 candidates in the fray for 20 seats. The seat in the Pachora constituency was unopposed. In the elections held on the remaining 19 seats, the BJP-Shinde faction has won.
