"BJP put Champai Soren in a cage and made him a circus lion": Jharkand minister Banna Gupta

Ranchi: Banna Gupta, Jharkhand Health Minister on Tuesday hit out at the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), saying that the party has turned Champai Soren from a tiger to a circus lion. Champai Soren announced on August 30 that he has joined the BJP.
"JMM people used to call Champai Soren a 'tiger', but BJP put him in a cage and made him a 'circus lion'. The ringmaster is the one which makes the circus lion dance around, so the freedom is not present in the circus", said the Jharkhand health minister.
"The people in BJP are really wise and smart, they know how to take out a tree from someone else's garden and plant it in their own. So they only do these things", added Gupta.
The minister further criticised the BJP by saying that people become pure after they bathe in BJP's 'washing machine'. "Babulal ji had said earlier that he would jump from Qutub Minar but will not join the BJP, but he eventually did. There are a lot of people, like Ajit Pawar too, we heard about washing powder, so anyone who joins with them have become pure after going through the party's washing machine. Anyone who joins with them is not corrupt.", he said.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also reacted to Champai Soren's decision, saying that the former Chief Minister joined the BJP to save Jharkhand and alleged that JMM has become a party belonging to just the husband and wife
The Union Minister said, "Champai Soren is the tiger of Jharkhand. He played an important role in the progress of JMM and formation of separate Jharkhand. The public respects him. He has joined the BJP to save Jharkhand. Jharkhand is getting ruined due to infiltration from foreign land. He is worried about the corruption in the state. He was humiliated in JMM. JMM bas pati-patni ki party ban kar reh gayi hai (JMM has become party belonging to husband and wife)."
Soren resigned from all positions and the primary membership of JMM on August 28. He became the chief minister of Jharkhand on February 2, shortly after Hemant Soren resigned as the CM before being arrested by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) in a money laundering case. In less than two months, Champai Soren had to step down to allow the return of Hemant Soren to the chair following the latter's bail in the case.
The state is expected to witness an election of the 81-member legislative assembly later this year as the current state government's tenure ends in 2024. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to announce the dates.
